Throughout
time both the shores of the Hawaiian Islands and the waters along the
Eastern Seaboard of the United States have been home to the Honu (pronounced
hoe-new) or sea turtle. Owners David Tunney, brother of restaurateur John J.
Tunney lll, and John Rieger, offer a cuisine representative of the two
cultures under the vibrant umbrella of Blue Honu. In legends, the sea turtle often represented creation, longevity and wisdom. We too strive to provide our guests with the ultimate dining experience inspired by creative cuisine, blessed with the success of longevity and anchored by the wisdom that every visitor should enjoy their food, family and friends in a unique and magical environment. soft lighting and swanky ultra-modern furnishings, this American-Hawaiian
restaurant looks more like a swank Manhattan lounge than a waterside tiki
hut. The huge dining room is a mix of private booths and communal tables.
The handsome, late-night bar and cozy fireside lounge are perfect for
people-watching, or working up the courage for that first kiss. On weekends,
the restaurant cooks until midnight, serving up Honu lettuce cups of
wok-seared chicken and black trumpet mushrooms with a Thai chili sambal
