Twenty five year restaurant veteran Chef Harry Sturhahn has a passion for creating restaurants that feel warm and full of life. Chef Harry is the owner and creative force behind the newly opened Central Bistro and Lounge ,located in the heart of Vancouver’s celebrated West end 1072 Denman Street.

As a youth, the German born Sturhahn was an aspiring architect and designer whose European influences are apparent in his work and goals for his restaurant. To bring what makes some of the best restaurants in Europe to Vancouver.. With Central, Sturhahn is achieving his goal of success.
Central Bistro is favorably sited in English Bay and its guests are as unequalled as is its menu. Frequent guests include theatre goers, performers, agents, business people, and colorful neighborhood locals. Central is quickly becoming a convenient oasis for evening sea wall strollers and people watchers expecting to spot a celebrity or two.
 


The Bistros unassuming entrance immediately embraces you with its warm interior set aglow by candles, antique chandeliers and romantic firelight. Central is built within a turn of the century building; it is spacious and cozy with the oversized fireplace providing a soothing backdrop to this theatrical space.

Central Bistro’s wine list and redesigned menu offers up dishes to satisfy every palate including vegetarian and vegans.” Our menu is influenced by my diverse and talented team; we serve globally inspired comfort food that is a creative expression of everyone and everything around us.” Sturhahn’s cuisine includes ambitious dishes inspired from regions around the world where like most things in life the food is left to its own simple beauty.
